You are probably aware that Orlando vacations revolve around theme parks, but this beautiful city has much more to offer the visitor than just thrilling rides. Orlando has many churches, museums, parks, markets and unusual tourist attractions to keep the most determined visitor happy. Everything a visitor could possibly want is here and the reason why people return year after year.

It is a great place to visit even if you only have shopping on your mind as Orlando area is full of beautiful shopping malls, restaurants and shops of every type. An Orlando vacation has far more to offer than this short article can possibly hope to highlight so only a few of the more unusual attractions and places to see are brought to your attention.

Starting out as a Sanford Fire Department collection the Central Florida Zoological Park zoo is home to more than 400 animals. Started for the preservation of exotic animals the zoo has a charity status.

Housed here in the Morse Museum of American Art are the famous works of Louis Tiffany. With the largest display in the world this is the place to visit for Tiffany art lover’s, including glass, jewelry, paintings, ornaments and pottery.

Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups with about the same number of adult and family attractions. Vibrant Night life is also popular on vacations to Orlando with music and dance available at some of the favorite venues which include Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island, Universal City walk, and other clubs.

If you are more technology and science minded then a trip to the Orlando Science Center will be a must as is a huge complex incorporating 10 halls with exhibitions everything from the Florida Everglades to the plains of Mars. An alternative to this would be the International Trolley and Train Museum which can be found along International Drive and has one of the country’s largest operating indoor G gauge layouts in a space of over four thousand square feet.

Home to the Titanic Exhibition on International Drive the Mercado Center is the where you are treated like you are ACTUALLY traveling onboard the Titanic; this is a really eerie experience and includes original objects from the Titanic. In the heart of downtown away from all the business is the Lake Eola Park. Over forty acres of beautiful sidewalks where you can spend a few hours of peace.

Of course without visiting at least one theme park how could anyone possibly visit Orlando? For those of you who are unsure of which to visit then take heart because there are four theme parks in Disney. Universal has its own theme park versions including Sea world. Since an Orlando vacation has everything you won’t be short of things to do! In fact you may need a week off to recover in a resort that has good weather all year round and never closes.
